In our annual “State of the WAN” report, we surveyed almost 800 network and IT practitioners at global enterprises in various industries to better understand their networking and application performance challenges, priorities, and plans for 2019 and beyond.

A few of the key findings in this report include:

  • ENTERPRISE NEEDS ARE SHIFTING - Almost 50% of enterprises have a true multi-cloud strategy, leveraging five or more providers and SaaS applications. In fact, over 15% have over 1000 applications deployed, many in the cloud.
  • PERFORMANCE IS PARAMOUNT - IT help desks are still inundated by user complaints of slow application performance for both branch offices (54%). And, 34% have identified managing service providers as a major barrier, acknowledging that performance suffers when managing a complex environment.
  • MANAGED SD-WAN IS THE FUTURE - Enterprises are looking for a fully-integrated SD-WAN with multi-cloud (58%), security (47%), application optimization (42%), and the ability to replace their existing MPLS networks (30%). A fully-managed service meets these requirements.
